Our commitment
We aim for the site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, and to the European standard EN 301 549, and we keep improving it.
Conformance status
The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1, level AA: some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the requirements (see below).
What we have done
- Pages have a “Skip to content” link that bypasses the navigation.
- The language of every page is declared (Bulgarian or English) so that screen readers recognise it.
- The banners on the home page can be stopped with a pause button; when “reduce motion” is set they do not change by themselves and change without animation.
- The main photograph of every product has a text alternative with its name.
- Text and button colours are chosen for a contrast of at least 4.5:1; on the coloured labels in the menu the text colour (white or dark) is picked automatically for the background.
- Fields and buttons have names for screen readers, and form errors are shown as text, not only by colour. At checkout, the chosen office and the number of offices found are announced to screen readers.
- The product comparison table, which scrolls sideways, can also be scrolled with the keyboard.
Known limitations
- Product data and photographs come from the suppliers. Some photographs have no description beyond the product name, and some descriptions contain unstructured text.
- For some products the label information (ingredients, nutrition facts, directions) is so far available only as a photograph of the label.
- On the English version of the site, product names, descriptions and specifications that have no translation are in Bulgarian.
- The content of the “Page not found” (404 error) page appears only after JavaScript has loaded.
- Manufacturers' websites and other external pages that we link to may not be accessible.
- The main pages (home, category, product, cart, checkout, comparison) have automated WCAG 2.1 AA tests (axe-core). A manual check with a screen reader and keyboard only has not been done yet.
